Recon – Cannabis Delivery – 7 Grams – Indica
The ReCon is a perfect mix of two parts of LA Confidential and one element of Cannadential. For its indica characteristics, the Cannadential father was selected and at times, the ReCon seems stronger than even the LA Confidential. There’s plenty of magic for sure in this cross!
Recon (or ReCon) is a versatile hybrid that offers an easy way to sit back and relax. The name of ReCon refers in part to its genetics—it is derived from the powerhouse LA Confidential hybrid. Its other parent strain, Cannadential, imparts some aromatic funk. Recon is the brainchild of DNA Genetics, the maker of strains such as Chocolope and Holy Grail. Recon’s sedative effects are said to last longer than normal, sure to please cannabis newbies and veterans alike. The psychoactivity of this bud has been quantified at 13 percent to 23 percent THC.
In dense, popcorn-like formations, Recon’s flowers appear towards the smaller side and stick together. The buds are rounded and are most commonly associated with Indicas in the densely-packed structure. The mossy green leaves curl closely inward to their central stems and are threaded through with dark hairs of rust color (which are actually pistils, structure meant to catch pollen from fertilizing male plants). Finally, the inner and outer surfaces of these thick flowers cover a blanket of ice white trichomes, making them very sticky and impossible to break apart without a high-quality grinder.
Recon’s flowers hit the nose on initial inspection with the sharp fragrance of pepper and cloves. A closer inspection of the buds shows an underlying sweetness that borders on a dank, almost fermented musk. Grinding up or breaking open these tight buds, meanwhile, yields subtle herbal notes. It gives off a sharp, acrid smoke when Recon is combusted in a pipe or a joint, which may irritate the eyes or sinuses of the smoker. On the exhale, that dark, rich smoke tastes sweet and hashy.
Recon has a high for an Indica that hits quickly. A cool, melting feeling spreads down from the neck and outward through the heart and limbs almost instantly. This numbing sensation will progress towards pseudo paralysis, depending on the environment and setting of the person, as well as their individual tolerance. A trippy sensation of sensory distortion is often recorded by many consumers—this effect can manifest itself as anything from an impaired perception of visual depth to an intensification of sights and sounds to a deceptive sense of time dilation. If you’re so inclined, revel in these psychedelic effects with some ambient music or an intense, entertaining movie by kicking back alone. This one-sided pressure (unless you count the foggy, disoriented feeling that comes with the intensity of the physical high of Recon) comes with little to no mental stimulation. As such, though under Recon’s spell, smokers should not intend on achieving a mountain of work. Instead, enjoy this bud as a way to strengthen or ignite a little intimacy and passion with small, laid-back gatherings. Smokers can depend on intractable couchlock-and even sleep as the high progresses or as the dose is increased. Recon is one strain which is best enjoyed at night or just before bed due to its solely soothing and immobilizing character.
Recon can also have some applications for patients with medicinal cannabis. Owing to conditions such as fibromyalgia or arthritis, his extensive physical relaxation can be a perfect analgesic for aches and pains, whether they are temporary, as in the case of injury, or chronic. The anti-inflammatory effects of the strain can also alleviate daily irritations such as headaches and nausea. Psychologically speaking, the smooth, uplifting high of Recon will temporarily take the edge off the disturbing symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. As noted, this strain can also induce deep and restful sleep at sufficiently high doses. Recon can be a good choice for those who are susceptible to anxiety or who have a low tolerance for THC, since it is unlikely to bring in any excessively intense habits of thought.
Luckily for home growers, DNA Genetics has made Recon seeds available online for sale. The strain can be grown indoors or out, although a humid climate with steady daytime temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit is required for effective outdoor cultivation. The plants of Recon have a characteristically short and bushy indica silhouette, and growers should regularly cut off any large fan leaves that could prevent light and air from reaching any low-growing flowering nodes. When grown indoors, Recon flowers within 8 to 9 weeks and is ready for harvesting when grown outdoors in late September to early October.
Recon deserves a spot in the stash box of any Indica lover with a roomy, soothing high and a bold, unforgettable taste.
